1820 Garraux Road NW Atlanta, Georgia 30327

A classicist architect James Means recasting of a home designed by Neel Reid in 1912 and located near the Brookwood train station. When it was demolished in 1963, James Means salvaged the parts and used them to rebuild the existing house for his clients. The current owner purchased the property in 1980 and hired Norman Askins to construct a first-floor master suite addition with a 2-car garage on the level below. Almost every room on the main floor has French doors that lead to the patio. Beautifully patterned hardwood floors, elaborate moldings, three fireplaces, and other classic details are also noteworthy. There is also a pool, a pool house, and a tennis court on the property. Bring your contractor and restore this architectural gem to its former glory.
